Bollywood's Take On The Call For Ban On Pakistani Actors

Shiv Sena has asked the government to ban Pakistani actors like Ali Zafar, Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan from acting in Indian films. At a recent show of Beauty And The Beast, many B-Townies opened up about the issue.

Aditya Roy Kapur said, "Everyone should enjoy the freedom to work wherever they want to. We are a free country."

Dia Mirza agreed, saying, "People from the film industry have always been soft targets. I feel very upset for actors because their only wish is to entertain people and nothing else."

Emraan Hashmi, who worked with Pakistani actress Humaima Malik in last year's release Raja Natwarlal, said, "Actors, directors and entertainers should not be bound by these things. It's really unfortunate. Creativity should not be stifled and there should be no boundaries in it."

Voicing a similar opinion was ace filmmaker Anurag Basu. He said, "Bollywood unites India. When you go to watch a movie, you don't look as to whether the person sitting beside me is a Hindu or Muslim, Indian or Pakistani. Therefore, such kind of protests will never be successful."
